The clocks have gone back, Halloween and bonfire night are out of the way and the dark nights are here. Yet another big event is still around the corner, and we don’t mean Christmas, rather the anticipation of Christmas adverts.
Historically, for many, the first sighting of the Coca Cola advert ‘Holidays’ are coming’ is a signal that we are now on the countdown to Christmas, whilst the John Lewis adverts have been tear-jerking and spectacular in recent years.
Some retailers have already put theirs out like Aldi, Lidl and Asda, but there are rumours there may be second incarnations of these adverts too. Currys were, however, the first to put their cards on the table this year. No date has been given to the John Lewis launch yet, although it is reported that Elton John has been paid a lot of money to appear on the advert.
Lego has however decided to do its first-ever global Christmas campaign, as it continues to push forward its TV marketing presence after a four-year hiatus. The company has used the tagline “this is not a brick, it’s their wildest wishes and depicts children in various action movie-esque scenarios based on their own individual Lego sets.
Such is the buzz in the lead up to Christmas and the adverts, no business wants to run out of baskets before the mad rush, before and after Christmas. If you think your store could do with some brand-new plastic baskets to beat the rush, or to allow shoppers to put more items in their baskets, please get in touch with us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment this winter. It could be the difference between good sales and poor sales.
